Race Day Information

The 2011 SECCC Championship will be hosted in Macon, Georgia by the Mercer University Cycling Team. Make sure you make your plans to be at the three venues on the weekend of April 16-17, 2011 as a cyclist, spectator, or as a first time fan!

Saturday morning's events will consist of an individual time trial and team time trial just 15 minutes east of Macon while the criterium will be featured on an extremely fast 0.7 mi (1.1km) course around Tatnall Square Park, right in front of Mercer's historic administrative buildings. With the Mercer Village anchored on one corner and the streets of the cozy Macon neighborhood blocked off, the course should be perhaps the most fan friendly venue of the weekend! To top of the day, the 2011 BearStock Music Festival will continue inside the park following the conclusion of the criterium events.

Sunday morning's road race will be featured on a 16 mile loop adjacent to the time trial areas. Featuring approximately 500 feet of climbing per loop, the course is one of the hilliest in middle Georgia as it crosses the fall line each time. It will test all riders and provide a fair racecourse. Climbers and sprinters beware, this course is for the most balanced rider!
